The museum holds the collection of mosaics by the famous Soviet mosaic artist, sculptor and painter Boris Chernyshev. His works are displayed in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and other art museums and galleries of Russia, in private collections.
Guests will see the mosaics used to decorate the foyer and summer cafe of the movie theater in previous years. The mosaics were preserved during the reconstruction and became exhibits of the new museum. The mission of the museum is to be a cultural anchor in the neighborhood, to encourage everyone to see art as an incentive for genuine human interaction, communication, and exchange.
Speaking of the future, the museum will have a role to play in the education of future generations. From creating exhibitions targeted towards children to teaching children and doing its bit to pass down knowledge, the space will also offer interactive exhibitions and opportunities for children.
Not only our museum bring history to life, but it can also shine a light on our present and future.
