On #GivingTuesday, millions of people around the world share how and who they help, and non-profit organizations and businesses come together to host charitable events. On this day, hundreds of initiatives take place, which are collected on the official map of the event. Anyone can add their own event or join those organized by NPOs in different cities and towns.
In Russia, the campaign has been held since 2016. Now it is coordinated by the Giving Culture Charity Foundation. Last year, #GivingTuesday brought together 4,417 participants from 138 cities and towns. More than 24 thousand people made donations. About 25.5 million rubles were collected for charity.
ADG group continues to cooperate with charitable foundations and inform visitors to the "Meeting Place" neighbourhood centers about socially significant initiatives. Recently, ADG group has supported the Children Instead of Flowers campaign organized by the Vera charity foundation and the Lighthouse Charity Foundation, as well as the Afterdark music project of the Konstantin Khabenskiy’s Charity Foundation. Neighbourhood centers "Meeting Place" have repeatedly become the venue for events of charitable organizations. For example, in June, on the roof of the neighbourhood center "Meeting Place Neva", stretching, yoga and meditation classes were held, organized by the "Dari Edu (Give Food)" project for its volunteers. And in July, on the roof of the neighbourhood center "Meeting Place Elbrus" an aroma class was held for residents of Tsaritsyno by the "Sirota Charity Foundation".
From November 15 to 28, the Meeting Place neighbourhood centers were hosting a campaign that informed visitors about the #GivingTuesday campaign. Thanks to information about the action posted on digital screens in neighbourhood centers, residents of different parts of Moscow were able to find out how they can support and help those who need it.
"In our work, we are focused on creating friendly communities in which people feel surrounded by like-minded people and are always ready to help each other. We are pleased to support the #GivingTuesday charity event and invite our visitors from different parts of Moscow to join it," said Galina Funina, head of public relations at ADG group.
"In 2023 #GivingTuesday takes place for the eighth time in Russia, but before that we did not have the opportunity to talk so widely about movement in urban spaces. The mission of #GivingTuesday is to attract new participants to charitable activities, and our cooperation with the Meeting Place centers is another important step towards achieving it. After all, thousands of citizens will see information on #GivingTuesday in neighboring centers, and, of course, we hope they will get engaged and want to donate. Thank you for your support!" - Alena Artasheva, coordinator of the #GivingTuesday movement in Russia.
